Client Insights: Authority

Are they the sole decision-maker? Are they pre-qualified?

Authority refers to who has the power to make decisions regarding the property transaction.

Examples:

  • A single individual or a couple
  • Family members or financial advisors involved in the decision-making
  • Legal guardians or power of attorney holders in certain situations
  • Do they have mortgage approval

What a Realtor Should Know:

It's vital to identify the decision-makers early on to avoid miscommunication or delays. A Realtor should ensure that everyone with authority is involved in key discussions, so decisions are made efficiently without last-minute surprises or changes.
